Antileucotrienos y enfermedad respiratoria

Abstract

En la fisiopatología del proceso inflmatorio que subyace en la alergia respiratoria (rinitis alergia y asma) se liberan cerca de cien mediadores; entre éstos, los leucotrienos C4, D4, E4, (anteriormente denominados SRS-A, sustancia de reacción lenta en la anafilaxis) son mediadores centrales. Este hecho ha abierto un horizonte terapéutico nuevo: la posiblidad de modular la acción de dichos afentes por medio de los modificadores de leucotrienos que han sido introducios en la terapia desde 1995
