Abstract

El Banco de Occidente es una de las empresas más sólidas del sector financiero colombiano, el cual desde su inicio ha tenido un gran despliegue, ya que en 1970 ya contaba con 15 oficinas a nivel nacional. La fusión con el grupo Sarmiento Angulo le permitió a la organización alcanzar nuevos horizontes gracias al fortalecimiento de recursos de capital, combinado con una reconocida experiencia, lo anterior termina por convertirla hoy en día en una de las entidades representativas de su sector. Entre sus principales logros está el haber consolidado su propio sistema de tarjetas de crédito credencial, siendo pionero en lo referente a compras y pagos. Posteriormente, se generan alianzas con las franquicias de MasterCard y Visa. A nivel internacional también se dan avances a través de la sede del banco en Panamá y el Occidental Bank of Barbados. Banco de Occidente is one of the most solids corporations of the Colombian financial sector . From the beginning it had a big deployment, in 1970 it already had 15 offices in all the country. The fusion with the Sarmiento Angulo Group let the organization rich new horizons because of the strengthening in the capital, mixed with the known experien ce, it results in a very representative organization in the sector. Among the principal achievements of the bank is to consolidate its own card credit system, which take the organization to be pioneer in shopping and payments. Later, came the partnerships with Visa and MasterCard. O n an international level , the company made big advances through the branch offices in Panamá and the Occidental Bank o f Barbados. After many fusions in the later years, then bank became in one of the better qualified in credit accreditation for short term debt and long term debt. Also, Great Place to Work world organization recognized the bank as the sixth better national company to work in.
