Abstract

The brain is a complex biological network responsible for storing all information from the environment, giving a unique personality to the human species and other animals. It consists of the cerebral cortex, corpus callosum and white matter and basal ganglia. In Colombia as in many parts of the world, there has been a continuous search aimed at understanding the complex neural connections of the cerebral cortex. Studies in ischemic tissues have reported changes in neuronal morphology, homeostasis and apoptotic processes and / or characteristic necrotic ischemia.
