Abstract

This investigative work is aimed at the creation of a tool allowing to measure the quality of life of the 22 communes of Santiago de Cali, which are expected to design an index consisting both objective indicators and subjective. To achieve this will be a replica of the index of quality of life of the Organization for cooperation and economic development (OECD), the "Better Life Index", based on official sources of information like “Cali Cómo Vamos”, “Cali en Cifras” and “Encuesta de Empleo y Calidad de Vida (EECV)” for the municipality of Santiago de Cali. Among the results highlights that there is an absence of data that sometimes limits policy decisions that you want to take, but also causes that the decisions taken are not adequate to meet the needs of the population that is expected to benefit.
