Abstract

Este proyecto se considera un aporte relevante en cuestiones ambientales a los ingenios del valle del cauca y el país, pues las empresas del sector agro-industrial de países en vía de desarrollo buscan estrategias competitivas para garantizar una producción sotenible, haciendo un equilibrio entre el desarrollo económico, social y ambiental, además contribuye a disminuir los efectos negativos generados por los procesos de fertilización en un ingenio. Con el fin de contribuir en el conocimiento y reducción del impacto ambiental del sector azucarero, se estima, mediante el desarrollo de una herramienta, la huella de carbono generada por la labor de fertilización de la caña de azúcar comercial, que al tratarse de un tema de agricultura comprende los gases de efecto invernadero como el metano, el óxido nitroso y el diósido de carbono. Para ello se tiene en cuenta dos tipos de fuentes estudiadas: Fuentes móviles (Maquinaria utilizadas) y fuentes terrestres (Fertilizantes).
