Abstencionismo y factores socioeconomicos en Santiago de Cali: un análisis por comunas

Abstract

El presente documento se encargará de estipular un modelo econométrico que estime la relación existente entre algunas variables socioeconómicas y el fenómeno del abstencionismo electoral en el municipio de Santiago de Cali. Para ello, se ha recurrido a la construcción de un modelo basado en la teoría de otros autores y en la recolección de datos proveniente de fuentes secundarias. En principio, a manera de introducción, se repasa el contexto histórico sobre el cual se ha definido el fenómeno de la abstención en Colombia y en Cali, resaltando además la importancia de su análisis. Además se introduce el porqué de la necesidad de hacer dicha modelación mediante un análisis por clusters. Se mencionan también algunos problemas que pueden presentarse en la etapa de recolección de datos y en la de estimación de los coeficientes. Finalmente, tras el proceso de estimación, se esbozan una serie de conclusiones teniendo en cuenta las implicaciones y los resultados de todo el ejercicio.
