Modelo de expansión de un sector productivo

Abstract

Se desarrolla en este escrito un Modelo de Expansión de un Sector Productivo* que permite definir la mejor estrategia para satisfacer la demanda tratando de minimizar los costos totales asociados con la producción incluyendo en ellos también todos los costos de transporte. O, e n otras palabras, maximizando la eficiencia en términos nacionales. Todo sector productivo se caracteriza por la existencia de varias fuentes potenciales para satisfacer la demanda. El modelo que se presenta aquí considera tres fuentes principales: producción nacional a partir de materia prima nacional, producción nacional a partir de productos semimanufacturados importados e importación del producto terminado. En un primer paso, y mediante la utilización de Programación Lineal, se optimiza la gestión de varias estructuras productivas (definidas por cierta capacidad industrial instalada en puntos geográficos precisos). Se obtiene hasta una serie de estados posibles para cada uno de los años del período considerado en el análisis, a cada uno de los cuales aparece asociado un costo anual para satisfacer la demanda correspondiente. Posteriormente, se evalúan las diferentes secuencias posibles de esos estados usando para ello como función objetiva, que se espera minimizar, el costo total actualizado (valor presente) para todo el período.
