Algunos conceptos fundamentales de la administración contemporanea

Abstract

Sin duda alguna, el cambio es una de las características más importantes de la sociedad contemporánea. Permanentemente somos sorprendidos e influidos por los cambios que se generan en los diversos aspectos de la vida social como, por ejemplo, en la ciencia, en la tecnología, en la economía, en la política, en la cultura, etc. No obstante, en nuestro país no parece haber una correspondencia entre este cambio social, calificado por algunos como dramático o turbulento, y sus instituciones y organizaciones, las cuales se mueven pausadamente, dejando una sensación de vacío, pródigo, en muchas ocasiones, al conflicto. Se diría entonces, que nuestras instituciones y organizaciones deberían ponerse al ritmo de los tiempos, es decir, de acuerdo con el momento histórico y el contexto cultural de nuestra sociedad. Ahora bien, ¿qué significa esto para un administrador? Ante todo, el administrador debe ser consciente de que en sus manos está el desarrollo no sólo de las organizaciones sino, también, de su propia sociedad, y esto implica, entre otras cosas, lo siguiente: ser sensible al momento que vive su sociedad y su organización, ser creativo para poder encontrar las mejores soluciones, y ser profundamente consciente de la naturaleza humana y de que el hombre es el elemento más importante y es hacia él a quien deben dirigirse todos los esfuerzos.
