Abstract

En el mes de junio de 1986 se realizó en Bogotá, Colombia, un Seminario Internacional sobre el tema "La Crisis Mundial en la Educación Superior" auspiciado por ellCDE (International Council for Educational Development), ellASEI (Instituto AJIJIC sobre Educación Internacional), el ICFES (Instituto Colombiano para el Fomento de la Educación Superior) y la FES (Fundación para la Educación Superior), durante el cual se trató como subtema específico la Crisis Financiera en la Educación Superior. Del análisis de los diferentes trabajos presentados y de las deliberaciones que tuvieron lugar durante el mismo, se puede concluir que la preocupación general, compartida por lo demás por estos autores para la situación específica de Colombia, es de que en las condiciones inflacionarias de nuestros países y con el ritmo de crecimiento en costos reales que implica el ofrecimiento de educación universitaria de buena calidad, se está llegando a un punto tal que ni los particulares (padres y estudiantes-trabajadores) podrán financiar la educación universitaria privada ni el Estado podrá financiar la educación universitaria pública.
