Resumen: Este trabajo explica el concepto relativo a la protección marítima a nivel nacional, europeo e internacional. Se describen los actores y normativa actuales, tanto en el ámbito militar como en el ámbito civil. Se expone la estrategia de Seguridad de Europa y de España, atendiendo a las capacidades de las que dispone la Administración. Se analiza el trabajo realizado por Europa en la gestión de las fronteras y el papel de España en la Seguridad del Mediterráneo. Se exponen los riesgos y amenazas en el ámbito marítimo y las vulnerabilidades existentes. Se termina por dar conclusiones del trabajo realizado por España en materia de protección marítima en un punto clave como es el Estrecho de Gibraltar.

Abstract: This paper explains the concept concerning maritime security at national, European and international level. Actors and current regulations, both in the military and in civil matters are described. Security strategy in Europe and Spain is exposed, considering the available capacities of the administration. The work done by Europe in border management and the role of Spain in the Mediterranean Security is analyzed. The risks and threats in the maritime field and existing vulnerabilities are exposed. You end up giving conclusions of the work done by Spain in the field of maritime security is a key point as the Strait of Gibraltar.
