Mejoras en el tratamiento de aguas de lastre

Abstract

Resumen: En este trabajo se estudian las mejoras existentes para limitar la problemática surgida del transporte de agua de lastre como actividad esencial del tráfico marítimo. Se analizarán los efectos perjudiciales del transporte y descarga de especies invasivas, tratando casos concretos para conocer la magnitud de los daños y riesgos potenciales de los mismos. Se tratarán la evolución de las diferentes normativas que han surgido para regular y tratar de minimizar los efectos perjudiciales derivados del transporte de aguas de lastre. Se profundiza en el contenido del Convenio internacional para el control y la gestión del agua de lastre y los sedimentos de los buques (BWM) de 2004. De este modo se detalla las normas y requisitos que deberán de cumplir los buques en función a sus características y el tipo de navegación que realicen. En el campo de las mejoras. Se analizan los sistemas que han surgido para que los buques puedan cumplir con el Convenio internacional para el control y la gestión del agua de lastre y los sedimentos de los buques (BWM). Se estudian las diferentes tipos de plantas de tratamiento de aguas de lastre y sus características. Para entender un poco más las características y modo de operar estos nuevos sistemas en los buques, se estudia la planta de tratamiento de lastre del buque de nueva construcción ¨Reforma Pemex¨.
