Abstract

RESUMEN: La investigación desarrollada en la Tesis permite cuantificar la disminución de capacidad de las vigas de madera laminada encolada mediante una campaña experimental. Así, realizando ensayos a escala real sobre vigas de canto constante y variable con imperfecciones dentro de las establecidas en la norma, el plan de ensayos consigue determinar para distintas esbelteces el comportamiento de la pieza real en comparación con la pieza ideal normativa. El análisis de los resultados y su comparación con el Eurocódigo permiten establecer conclusiones sobre el diferente comportamiento de estas estructuras respecto a los análisis en primer orden o pandeo lineal; destacándose la aparición de tensiones de segundo orden desde los primeros escalones de carga que se reflejan en las curvas carga-desplazamiento resultantes. Se obtiene así un factor reductor que permitiría incorporar en el cálculo en primer orden los efectos de las imperfecciones para poder mantener los actuales niveles de seguridad asociados al formato de seguridad de coeficientes parciales de la verificación del estado límite último de pandeo lateral que realiza el Eurocódigo 5.

ABSTRACT: The investigation developed in this thesis permits to take into account the reduction of the capacity of the Glulam timber beams because of the lateral buckling inestability. A complete full-scale test program was developed for constant and tapered glulam beams in order to capture the real behaviour of the beams taking into account the effect of the impefections. Beams with several different slenderness were tested and compared with the ideal beam. The analysis of the results compared with the Eurocode´s formulas shows how different is the second order behaviour when is compared when the linear buckling analisys; the second order stresses that are affecting the beam from the very begining of the test have been plotted and P- curves obtained. Finally a reduction factor that reflects the effects of the real beam imperfections is provided in order to keep on using the linear analisys for the lateral buckling according to Eurocode 5 but not afectting to the reliability of the safety structural model used in the Ultimate Limit State verification.
