Abstract

Durante los últimos años, la salmonicultura ha experimentado un considerable auge a nivel mundial, convirtiéndose en Chile en una de las industrias más rentables del país. Sin embargo, el uso desmedido de antibióticos en este tipo de actividades, orientado a prevenir infecciones en los cultivos y aumentar así su producción, ha originado una serie de repercusiones negativas sobre el medioambiente. Uno de los mayores problemas asociados a esta práctica es la aparición de bacterias resistentes a los antibióticos, que pueden proliferar más allá del entorno acuático y generar potenciales problemas de salud en seres humanos y animales terrestres. Surge, por tanto, la necesidad de desarrollar métodos de degradación eficaces para evitar la presencia de estos compuestos en el medio. En el presente estudio, se decide investigar la aplicación de sistemas enzimáticos como alternativa para la eliminación de los principales antibióticos presentes en estas aguas. En concreto, se evalúan las condiciones de degradación de oxitetraciclina y eritromicina mediante la enzima lacasa de Trametes versicolor y se estudia el efecto del pH sobre el sistema, así como la incorporación del mediador siringaldehído.
