Abstract

RESUMEN: Las Relaciones Públicas permiten relacionar a la empresa con sus diferentes públicos a través de acciones de comunicación planificadas. La Imagen Corporativa no es simplemente una identidad visual, se trata de un activo intangible para la empresa ya que es una importante fuente de ventaja competitiva. Una imagen positiva viene determinada por la trayectoria empresarial y la cultura de la propia organización. Dicha imagen positiva mantenida en el tiempo se convierte en reputación corporativa y para que ésta genere valor debe ser omunicada a través de diferentes técnicas. En función de la tipología del público objetivo existen técnicas de comunicación, como las técnicas internas, las técnicas externas y las técnicas de relaciones con los medios de comunicación social; todas ellas permiten mejorar y transmitir la imagen de la empresa. La Imagen Corporativa está en constante evolución, adaptándose a los nuevos cambios, prueba de ello es el desarrollo de las tecnologías de la comunicación. El uso de internet, las redes sociales y de los teléfonos inteligentes mejora en este sentido el acceso a la información donde cualquier comportamiento de la empresa puede evaluarse en términos de imagen. Las Relaciones Públicas permiten gestionar la comunicación de la empresa, sobre todo en situaciones de crisis donde el mensaje de la empresa debe aportar credibilidad y confianza para así minimizar o evitar consecuencias negativas en la imagen corporativa. En estos casos la empresa debe tener un Plan de Acción para demostrar ante sus públicos que la situación de crisis está bajo control y encontrar la solución. Una crisis bien gestionada puede generar oportunidades para fortalecer la imagen corporativa a través de mensajes positivos sobre la empresa, sus productos y servicios. En este trabajo, una revisión general de los conceptos antes mencionados será realizada en diferentes capítulos con el objetivo de mejorar nuestro conocimiento de la relevancia de las Relaciones Públicas y la Imagen Corporativa en el buen funcionamiento de la empresa y su gestión.

ABSTRACT: The Public Relations allow linking the company with its various audiences through planned communication actions. The Corporate Image is not simply a visual identity; it is an intangible asset to the company as it is an important source of competitive advantage. A positive image is determined by the business career and culture of the organization. This positive image maintained though the time becomes as the ‘Corporate Reputation’ and in order to generate a major value, it should be communicated through different techniques. Depending on the type of target audience there are different communication techniques, like internal, external and technical relationships with media; allowing all of them, improve and make public the image of the company. The Corporate Image is constantly evolving, adapting to the new changes, being the application of the new communication technologies a proof of it. The use of the internet, the social media and smartphones; certainly, improve the access of information, making possible that any company could nowadays being evaluated in terms of the image. The Public Relations allow managing the communication of the company, especially in crisis situations where the message of the company should provide credibility and trust, in order to minimize or avoid the negative consequences on Corporate Image. In these cases the company should have an action plan to demonstrate to their public that the crisis is under control and a solution has been found. A well-managed crisis can create opportunities to strengthen Corporate Image through positive messages about the company, its products, and services. In this paper, an overview of the concepts mentioned above, will be explained in different chapters to increase our understanding of the importance of Public Relations and Corporate Image in the good performance and management of the company.
