The purpose of this article is to compare, though briefly, the Spanish and Communily's grape and wine subsectors, remarking its similarities and structural differences as well as the regulations that rule the functioning of both of them. A second objective ofthe study is to emphasize the probable consequences or impact resulting the Spanish integration. In principie it might appear that, considering certain differences in the grape and wine policies, the Spanish adhesion to the Community would result in a serious imbalance for sorne or both parties. However, as it is analysed in the article, the differences between the Spanish and the Community's grape and wine subsectors are not so great that the difficulties that today are interposed to the integration could not be overcome. For this reason, it is important that during the transitional period both suhsectors make the transformations that already at the present moment are considered necessary. In this connection it is worth remarking that although in the E. E. C. to a certain extent already have been programmed the public actions to be undertaken during thefive year period 1980-85.for the reconversion of part of the grape and wine subsector of the Community, in Spain the repertory of initiatives, in the way of a change of orientation in the grape and wine policy, has not yet begun to show up but dimly in the negociation and in the final articulation of the price table for the year 1982-83.
