Turismo de bienestar en Cantabria

Wellness tourism in Cantabria
Authors: Solana Sánchez, Ana;

Turismo de bienestar en Cantabria

Abstract

This Final Degree Project analyzes the potential of wellness tourism in Cantabria, a segment that is growing both nationally and internationally. Through a theoretical review, the study of the regional context, and a survey conducted with sector establishments, the research identifies the main characteristics of wellness tourists, current trends, and the needs of businesses. The results show increasing demand for experiences related to health, disconnection, and nature, as well as a diverse but scarcely visible business network. The main shortcomings identified include the lack of specific promotion, the absence of an updated resource guide, and limited institutional support. As a proposal, the project presents a preliminary guide of wellness accommodations and establishments in Cantabria for consultation, promotion, and planning. Overall, the study highlights the opportunity to strengthen Cantabria as a destination for wellness through coordinated strategies that enhance quality, cooperation, and sector visibility.
