Abstract

Las aeronaves no tripuladas (UAV) son un mercado emergente en el que la automática juega un papel fundamental. Gracias a determinados sistemas de control, llamados pilotos automáticos, se puede facilitar el manejo de estas naves a su piloto humano, de manera que la aeronave tenga una cierta autonomía. En este trabajo se propone uno de estos sistemas basado en algoritmos recientes, orientado a UAV de ala fija, capaz de lidiar con las no linealidades propias de estas aeronaves, detectar algunos fallos que se puedan dar en ellas durante el vuelo y adaptarse a estas circunstancias. A lo largo del documento se aborda el diseño y las pruebas en simulación del piloto automático, explicando cada uno de sus componentes en detalle, probándolos en conjunto y realizando un pequeño estudio de la electrónica y sensores usados en estos aeromodelos. El sistema de control se compone de 2 bloques funcionales, observador y controlador, que fueron probados gracias a un simulador de vuelo desarrollado ex profeso para este proyecto. Finalmente, se comentan otras aplicaciones de los algoritmos usados en este texto, tales como el cálculo de trayectorias de vuelo óptimas (mínimo gasto energético, máxima velocidad, etc.), predicción del comportamiento de un avión en fase de diseño o la estimación de coeficientes aerodinámicos del modelo del avión a partir de los registros (logs) de pruebas de vuelo.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are an emerging market in which automatic control plays an essential role. By means of some control systems called autopilots, the human pilot can be freed of many tasks required for handling these vehicles, giving the aircraft some autonomy. In this project, an autopilot based on recent algorithms is proposed. It is directed to fixed-wing aircraft and is capable of dealing with the nonlinearities of these systems, detect some of the faults that may arise during flight and adapt to these circumstances. This document includes the design and simulation tests of the control system, explanations of each component in detail, tests of the complete control loop and a brief study of the electronics and sensors of these aircraft. The control system is composed of 2 functional blocks, called observer and controller, that were tested using a flight simulator developed for this project. Finally, other applications of the developed algorithms are presented, such as the calculation of optimal flight trajectories (i.e. minimum energy usage, maximum velocity, etc.), prediction of the airplane’s behaviour at its desig fication of aerodynamic coefficients of the aircraft model using flight data
