Este trabajo tiene por objetivo estudiar que influencia tienen los convenios colectivos en las diferencias salariales entre trabajadores. Para ello utilizamos la Encuesta de Estructura Salarial de 2002 que proporciona información tanto del trabajador como de la empresa. Se trata por tanto, de comprobar si el tipo de convenio, condiciona buena parte de los salarios remunerando de distinta forma la composición del empleo o las características del trabajador, o por el contrario, no es una variable muy importante. Los resultados confirman que existen diferencias importantes en la fijación salarial de los distintos convenios siendo los convenios de empresa los que más tienen en cuenta características individuales del trabajador, no así los provinciales
In this article, we study the influence of the scope of collective bargaining on wages using the 2002 Spanish Wages Structure Survey (ESS 2002). We focus on test if collective agreements are an important factor on wages differences between employees or not. The results show that, compared to multi-level bargaining, firm level bargaining has a positive effect on wages levels. Besides, it is used to adapt pay to the specific characteristics of employees and employer improving the flexibility of labor market
