Abstract

La dependencia de combustibles fósiles y sus consecuencias ambientales impulsan la búsqueda de alternativas sostenibles como el biodiésel, que puede reducir significativamente las emisiones de CO₂. El aceite derivado de desechos de pescado, tradicionalmente considerado un residuo de bajo valor, ofrece una opción prometedora para la producción de biodiésel, facilitando la gestión de residuos pesqueros y contribuyendo a una economía circular. El proyecto Sostén La Flota busca establecer métodos para producir biodiésel de alta calidad a partir de estos desechos, beneficiando a pequeñas regiones pesqueras al proporcionarles una fuente de energía sostenible y económica para sus buques y fábricas. Este trabajo se centra en el proceso de extracción del aceite necesario para la fabricación de biodiésel, buscando la mejor opción en cada etapa a escala de laboratorio

The reliance on fossil fuels and their environmental consequences drive the search for sustainable alternatives such as biodiesel, which can significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. Oil derived from fish waste, traditionally considered a low-value byproduct, presents a promising option for biodiesel production. It facilitates the management of fishery waste and supports a circular economy. The Sostén La Flota project aims to develop methods for producing high-quality biodiesel from these wastes, benefiting small fishing communities by providing them with a sustainable and cost-effective energy source for their vessels and factories. This work focuses on the oil extraction process necessary for biodiesel production, seeking the best option at each stage on a laboratory scale
