Diseño de un intercambiador de calor bifásico

Abstract

Heat exchangers are a fundamental part of the chemical, oil, gas and related industries. A particular relevant case is the use of heat exchangers with phase change, where at least one fluid change its state during the process. This type of exchanger is essential in many industrial and energy applications due to its high thermal efficiency. This project aims to design an exchanger with phase change that allows ammonia to be condensed for its subsequent use as an energy vector for hydrogen. Starting from some input parameters such as temperatures or flow rates of the fluids, a shell and tube heat exchanger with phase change (from vapor to liquid), a condenser, will be calculated and designed, following design standards and codes. The heat exchange will occur between liquid water and ammonia vapor, which is intended to be condensed. Once designed, the results will be analyzed and the appropriate documentation will be prepared for use by the following agents in the heat chain, plant processists and manufacturing engineering. An efficient heat exchanger design is obtained, it condenses the entire amount of ammonia vapor that enters for later use as a hydrogen energy vector
