Con el paso del tiempo las empresas no solo se han enfocado en lo que representa la actividad empresarial, sino también con el entorno en el que conviven. Ganando un mayor peso lo relacionado con la materia legislativa, medioambiental y organizativa desde un prisma de mayor ética y moralidad. Estas características que cada vez engloban más son agrupadas bajo la denominación Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC). Continuando con esta perspectiva, hemos planteado la necesidad de ver qué relación ha tenido un comportamiento cada vez más de moda, con las conductas empresariales y si ha tenido un efecto beneficioso. Para ello hemos contado como variable de medición de la RSC el ranking Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa (MERCO) y como variables empresariales, la rentabilidad financiera (ROE) y la rentabilidad económica (ROA). Con el objetivo final de analizar los patrones en las diferentes variables, hemos alcanzado unos resultados mixtos y sin una clara tendencia que se normalice conjuntamente en las tres variables discutidas.

With the passage of time, companies have not only focused on what business activity represents, but also on the environment in which they coexist. The legislative, environmental, and organisational aspects have become more important from a more ethical and moral perspective. These characteristics are increasingly being grouped together under the name of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Continuing with this perspective, we have considered the need to see what relationship an increasingly fashionable behaviour has had with business conduct and whether it has had a beneficial effect. To this end, we have used the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (MERCO) ranking as a CSR measurement variable and financial profitability (ROE) and economic profitability (ROA) as business variables. With the final objective of analysing the patterns in the different variables, we have achieved mixed results and without a clear trend that is jointly normalised in the three variables discussed
