Abstract

La interacción entre los usuarios y los sistemas informáticos se ha transformado en los últimos años debido a las proliferación de nuevos dispositivos y el surgimiento de nuevos paradigmas de interacción. Este es el caso de la computación ubicua y los sistemas sensibles al contexto, que plantean entornos en los que los servicios reaccionan a las condiciones del usuario para adaptarse a sus necesidades. Asimismo, estos desarrollos han dado lugar a la generación de grandes cantidades de datos que contienen información sobre la interacción del usuario, su actividad y comportamiento. Estos datos pueden presentar información relevante sobre el uso de aplicaciones y la percepción del usuario respecto a la interacción con ellas. Así, el análisis de estos datos con las técnicas adecuadas podría permitir la estimación de la experiencia de usuario en función de los patrones que exhibe. En este trabajo se estudia la evaluación automática de la calidad de la interacción según datos de actividad. Se considera el modelo de Calidad en Uso para valorar el efecto de la interacción con una aplicación software y su adaptación al contexto del usuario. En esta investigación planteamos que es factible diseñar un entorno que pueda ser adaptado e integrado en sistemas sensibles al contexto para asegurar y optimizar la Calidad en Uso. Para los objetivos de investigación propuestos, se define un framework para evaluar la Calidad en Uso en función de datos de interacción y modelos. En este framework planteamos un conjunto de métricas heurísticas, destinadas a cuantificar la calidad, y de modelos del contexto del usuario, basados en ontologías y estructuras probabilísticas, con el fin de representar los elementos de la interacción. A través de técnicas de la Minería de Datos, se producen resultados cuantitativos y cualitativos de análisis de la Calidad en Uso. El framework propuesto y su integración se valida a través de casos de estudio y en el ámbito industrial de una empresa software.

The interaction between users and computer systems has changed in recent years due to the proliferation of new devices and the emergence of new interaction paradigms. Examples of this are ubiquitous computing and context-aware systems, which create environments in which services react to user conditions to adapt to their needs. Also, these developments have led to the generation of large amounts of data containing information about user interaction, activity, and behavior. Such data can contain relevant information about the use of applications and the user's perception regarding the interaction with those. Thus, the analysis of these data with the appropriate techniques could allow the estimation of the user experience based on the patterns that are exhibited. In this work, we study the automatic evaluation of the quality of the interaction from activity data. The model of Quality in Use is considered to assess the effect of interaction with a software application and its adaptation to the user's context. In our research, we propose that it is feasible to design an environment that can be adapted and integrated into context-aware systems to ensure and optimize the Quality in Use. For the proposed research objectives, a framework is defined to evaluate the Quality in Use based on interaction data and models. In this framework, we propose a set of heuristic metrics, intended to estimate quality, and user context models, based on ontologies and probabilistic structures, intending to represent the elements of the interaction. Through Data Mining techniques, quantitative and qualitative results are produced to assess the Quality in Use. The proposed framework and its integration are validated through case studies and in the industrial environment of a software company.
