Abstract

O Brasil possui uma grande diversidade física e ambiental em sua costa, caracterizada pela heterogeneidade quanto à morfologia da costa e de seus componentes hidrodinâmicos, como as ondas, marés, mudanças no nível do mar e gradientes de pressão atmosférica. Com o intuito de caracterizar a costa brasileira, dados de reanálises numéricas podem ser utilizados quando dados medidos de longo período ainda são escassos. Dessa forma, é apresentada neste trabalho uma descrição dos ventos, climas de ondas, marés astronômicas e meteorológicas em toda a costa brasileira, fundamentada nas bases de dados de reanálises do programa SMC-Brasil: Downscaled Ocean Waves (DOW), Global Ocean Tides (GOT) e Global Ocean Surges (GOS), assim como a descrição da geração, calibração e validação dessas bases de dados. Por fim, também é dada uma breve descrição do programa SMC-Brasil focando as suas principais características.
