Abstract

In the framework of several international initiatives aimed at the creation of digital twins of the Earth or the Ocean, this paper presents the first developments of a digital twin of the coast mainly oriented to the adaptation to the impacts of climate change. This digital twin aims to integrate in a single system an advanced methodological framework for the analysis of climate change related risks on the coast. including: process-based physical models, assimilation of observations and artificial intelligence techniques, considering different scenarios and managing and visualizing the associated uncertainty and formulating adaptive trajectories with different adaptation measures far decision making.
