RESUMEN: El presente Trabajo Fin de Grado consiste en un estudio sobre el análisis de la empresa familiar Talleres Electromecánicos ELCAN SL situada en Santander, Cantabria. Este estudio se ha llevado a cabo a través del análisis de dos variables: las estrategias de crecimiento y desarrollo y los factores que afectan a la tendencia de localización de la actividad empresarial. En primer lugar, con respecto a las estrategias de desarrollo y crecimiento se realiza un análisis del crecimiento interno y externo y posteriormente un análisis por medio de la matriz de Ansoff la cual permite servir de guía a aquellas empresas que quieren crecer. Por otro lado, hemos analizado los factores que afectan a la tendencia de localización. Estos nos han permitido comprender el por qué la empresa está situada donde está, y que beneficios aporta dicha localización y no otra. A continuación, se estudian dichas variables las cuáles van a determinar las razones por las que la empresa está situada donde está y aquellos procesos que se han llevado a cabo para que la empresa crezca de manera positiva y por último, se hacen recomendaciones sobre cómo mejorar la situación. Los principales resultados después de este estudio son que Talleres Electromecánicos ELCAN SL tienen sus instalaciones en Maliaño, ya que la principal virtud que tienen al situarse allí es la cercanía con sus principales clientes. Y, por otro lado, están en fase de crecimiento, ya que han ampliado sus instalaciones y actualmente han comenzado de manera novedosa a vender materiales de soldadura en la plataforma de Amazon.

ABSTRACT: This Final Degree Project consists of a study on the analysis of the family business Talleres Electromecánicos ELCAN SL located in Santander, Cantabria. This study has been carried out through the analysis of two variables: the growth and development strategies and the factors that affect the localization trend of the business activity. Firstly, with respect to development and growth strategies, an analysis of internal and external growth is carried out and then an analysis by means of the Ansoff matrix, which serves as a guide for those companies that want to grow. On the other hand, we have analyzed the factors that affect the localization trend. These have allowed us to understand why the company is located where it is, and what benefits this location brings and not another. Then we study these variables which will determine the reasons why the company is located where it is and those processes that have been carried out for the company to grow positively and finally, recommendations are made on how to improve the situation. The main results after this study are that Talleres Electromecánicos ELCAN SL have their facilities in Maliaño, since the main virtue they have by locating there is the proximity to their main customers. And on the other hand, they are in a growth phase, as they have expanded their facilities and currently have started selling welding materials on the Amazon platform in a new way.
