The design, assembly and characterization of three different phase switches in millimetre wave frequencies based on PIN diodes is presented. These phase switches provide wide bandwidth, from 10 GHz to 40 GHz, and a phase shift around 180º. The phase switches have been designed with broadband coplanar to slot-line transitions and made on Alumina substrate with commercial PIN diodes HPND-4005, from Agilent, as switching devices. Three different phase switches are presented in order to compare different coplanar to slotline transitions and transmission paths.
