Abstract

ABSTRACT: In this Final Degree Project, a study is developed to analyze the technical and economic feasibility of solar pumping in different areas of Cantabria. The main objective of the study is to carry out an analysis to determine if direct solar pumping systems with water storage tanks are viable both from a technical and economic point of view. In addition, and in order to make the study more precise, the analysis has been carried out in different geographical points of the community of Cantabria, established according to the water resource of each of them, thus providing a solution to possible water supply problems in areas isolated from the electricity grid. For this, the current state of the art of solar pumping and the different ways of using groundwater have been exposed in the first place. Next, the solar resource available in each zone has been determined and the physical variables and design equations that allow configuring this type of pumping systems have been analyzed. The technical and economic viability ratios have been selected, established and determined, reflected in different curves and graphs, which have made it possible to analyze the viability and draw conclusions. Finally, and based on the results obtained, it is determined that solar pumping installations are both technically and economically feasible. From an economic point of view, it is also concluded that installations that require a large initial investment are less economically viable than those that have a lower initial investment. Despite the similarity of the data obtained, all have been analyzed equally to have the same information in the different areas of Cantabria and thus be able to consult the real values to correctly carry out the desired installations and to provide the project with an informative purpose
