ABSTRACT: In this paper, several rankings of the spanish regions and countries, based on Lorenz ordering are considered. We use spanish income data from the Casas, Callealta and Núñez study (1996) and the international data from the Jain study (1975). The Lorenz ordering is analyzed within six families or ordered Lorenz curves. The data generated a surprisingly stable empirical result.
