Abstract

RESUMEN: Las series de Fourier, además del enorme papel jugado en el desarrollo histórico del Análisis, tienen importantes aplicaciones fuera de las matemáticas en áreas como por ejemplo el tratamiento de señales. En este trabajo revisaremos algunas de sus propiedades matemáticas básicas, así como los algoritmos que permiten calcularlas de manera aproximada. Además, mostraremos un ejemplo del funcionamiento de estos algoritmos y su utilidad. Finalmente estudiaremos algunas de sus aplicaciones, como el análisis en el dominio de frecuencia de vibraciones para el mantenimiento predictivo de máquinas industriales.

ABSTRACT: Fourier series, in addition to the enormous role played in the historical development of Analysis, have important applications beyond mathematics in areas such as signal processing. This work aims to review some of their basic mathematical properties, as well as the algorithms that allow us to calculate them in an approximate way. In addition, we will show an example of how these algorithms work and their usefulness. Finally, we will study some of their applications, such as the analysis in the frequency domain of vibrations for the predictive maintenance of industrial machines.
