Abstract

Resumen: La estructura de capital óptima es un tema que ha sido tratado a lo largo de los años por numerosos autores pero que hoy en día sigue sin estar resuelto. Aunque existen varias teorías importantes en este ámbito, ninguna predice de manera exacta cómo afectan las distintas variables que se presentan en el mercado al nivel de endeudamiento de la empresa. Es por ello por lo que se ha creado un modelo de regresión sobre el nivel de endeudamiento aplicado al sector del transporte aéreo de pasajeros para poder analizar el comportamiento de una serie de variables sobre este. Con este modelo se ha llegado a la conclusión de que no hay una teoría que pueda predecir de manera exacta el comportamiento de las variables sobre el nivel de endeudamiento de la empresa. Además, se ha podido comprobar que variables como el tamaño de la empresa, la rentabilidad o la existencia de información asimétrica influyen positivamente en el nivel de endeudamiento. En cambio, los recursos que genera la empresa influyen de manera negativa al endeudamiento de la empresa.

Abstract: Optimum capital structure has been studied along the years by numerous authors nevertheless it is still unsolved nowadays. Although some important theories are used none predicts exactly how the multiple variables on the market affects a company's debt level. This is why a debt level regressive model applied to passenger commercial aircraft sector has been developed in order to analyse the variable´s behaviour on it. The model confirms that there is no model able to predict the influence of variable´s behaviour on a company's debt level satisfactorily. In addition, the model concludes that variables such as a company´s size, profitability or asymmetric information existence even have a positive impact on debt level whereas the sources generated by the company have a completely opposite influence.
