Criptomonedas: Medio de pago, tecnología y financiación

Abstract

Money has been a method of exchange since antiquity times, which with the pass of time and the technological advances has been transforming. The emergence of new virtual currencies that search different characteristics to those present so far, aims to change the way of making exchanges between people. The source of the first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, created by Satoshi Nakamoto together with Blockchain, the technology that supports it and that will change the way of understanding the world as the Internet already did, makes one wonder if there can be a change in the way of making payments between individuals. For this, it is essential to know well what cryptocurrencies are, their characteristics, the volatility they present, their security, the technology, the legislation they follow, and the position of countries with respect to them. Know that there are different projects within these, in which each one will offer different qualities to others, so there is a wide variety to select from. Finally, these currencies have allowed the emergence of new forms of financing for companies, despite being very risky investments, a notable returns can be obtained. We will see what happens in the future. Are cryptocurrencies here to stay or are they a speculative bubble?
