RESUMEN: El deporte y la economía cada vez tienen una mayor relación entre si, generando una trascendencia económica y social a nivel internacional. Por esta razón, una entidad financiera como el Banco Santander se decide a invertir en patrocinio deportivo para conseguir una expansión internacional, aprovechándose primero del deporte mas importante del automovilismo, la Fórmula 1 y mas tarde, para seguir manteniendo esa proyección internacional, apostando por el deporte rey, el fútbol. Por tanto, en este análisis se tratará de exponer la trascendencia de estos deportes en la economía y la sociedad, los motivos por los que el Banco Santander apostó por este tipo de patrocinio y el rédito que saco a esta inversión. Apoyándonos en un marco teórico y analizando los casos concretos del Banco Santander.
ABSTRACT: Sport and the economy are increasingly interrelated, generating economic and social transcendence on an international level. For this reason, a financial institution such as Banco Santander decided to invest in sports sponsorship to achieve international expansion, first taking advantage of the most important sport in motor racing, Formula 1, and later, in order to continue to maintain this international projection, investing in the king of sports, football. Therefore, this analysis will try to explain the importance of these sports in the economy and society, the reasons why Banco Santander opted for this type of sponsorship and the return on this investment.
