Abstract

ABSTRACT Project-based learning emerges with the aim of promoting an improvement in education, providing it a methodological innovation. It is presented as an alternative to traditional teaching, favouring the autonomy, curiosity and creativity of the students, which are very important skills in the teaching of a foreign language. This methodology is selected to develop and favour the acquisition of lexis and vocabulary, especially in the first cycle of Primary Education. In order to provide a practical approach, a didactic proposal entitled “How are the animals?” is presented in order to encourage the participation and collaboration of the students. In addition to working on vocabulary using the PBL method, fundamental values such as empathy, resilience, cooperation, conflict resolution and assertiveness are promoted.
