Abstract

ABSTRACT: A characterization of the Santander linear plasma machine (SLPM) has been carried out obtaining a description of its magnetic field at each point and with a subsequent analysis of the generated plasma looking for particle flux long-term correlations which shows a non-diffusive behaviour. First part introduces the plasma definition as well as a description of its characteristic magnitudes and the difficulties to carry out its confinement in current fusion reactors. A brief explanation about the components and diagnosis systems which compose the SLPM to perform plasma is exposed. A brief description of the theoretical axis of the elliptic integrals numerical method is given with which magnetic field is found, just as different experimental measurements compared with the numerical calculations to conclude that the field is uniform and its direction is the same as the machine axial axis. Finally, data of fluxes collected from Langmuir´s probes for differente radii have been analysed looking for long-term correlations, founding a diffusive dynamical of the plasma.
