ABSTRACT: Cruise tourism reached the number of thirty millions of passengers around the world in 2019 and forecasts for the next few years predicted a continuous and unstoppable growth in the sector, which, although truncated due to the appearance of the pandemic, it was found that it was - and will be - a booming type of travel. Although we can translate these figures into great economic benefits, we must also take into account the negative social and environmental consequences that these huge floating cities cause. That is why, and due to the continuous international summits to fight against the dizzying pace of climate change, that this polluting industry expressed in recent years that it wants to stop being part of its promotion as much as possible, and reduce the effects of it. Directing cruise tourism towards a more sustainable path and reducing its environmental impact is already a priority.
