Abstract

ABSTRACT: This final degree dissertation focuses on the study of the relationship between film festivals and tourism. It seeks to explore whether the hosting of same in Spain (Gijón, Huelva, Huesca, Madrid, Málaga, San Sebastián, Sitges, Valencia and Valladolid) has a significant impact in terms of tourist attraction. This dissertation will provide an overview of the current established forms of tourism. In addition, the interest in the film sector in particular will be addressed, highlighting the fact that no comparative study of Spanish festivals has been carried out to date. In this way, we will get to know their importance from a cultural and tourist point of view, since the lack of economic impact studies regarding the matter is undeniable. Relevant sources of information that are used in the carrying out of this study (bibliographical sources, research, analysis, etc.) are included and analysed. The conclusions reached will determine whether the cinema industry and tourism are closely linked and related complementary activities will be analysed.
