RESUMEN: El Barrio Pesquero aparece en el mapa de Santander como un apéndice a veces olvidado e infravalorado. En el presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado de la Universidad de Turismo Altamira, será estudiado con el fin de elaborar unas propuestas válidas para su puesta en valor. En éste, se llevará a cabo un análisis del barrio, desde el punto de vista del turista pero sin olvidar la importancia del residente. Se realizará un breve esquema sobre la influencia marítima en la historia de Santander y su importancia, y se estudiará la oferta y la demanda. Casos previos en la geografía española servirán de ejemplo y de inspiración. Para finalizar, se expondrán unas conclusiones acordes a la información recogida y unas propuestas para intentar mejorar la imagen turística de esta zona.

ABSTRACT: The Fishing District appears on the Santander map as an appendix, sometimes forgotten and undervalued. The present undergraduate dissertation seeks to study this area with a view to making useful proposals for its enhancement. An analysis of the neighbourhood is carried out from the tourist point of view, but careful attention is also paid to the importance of the resident. A brief history of the significant maritime influence on Santander is presented, while supply and demand is likewise studied. Previous case studies related to other similar scenarios in Spain serve as examples and inspiration. Finally, conclusions are presented in the light of the information gathered and proposals are made aimed at attempting to improve the tourist image of this area.
