RESUMEN: La finalidad de este Trabajo Fin de Grado es el estudio de la evolución de las diferencias salariales entre hombres y mujeres en el mercado laboral español. Para la realización de este estudio previamente se han investigado las causas de esta brecha salarial. Posteriormente, con datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística, se ha realizado un análisis descriptivo sobre la evolución de las diferencias salariales entre hombres y mujeres en España, utilizando los principales estadísticos descriptivos y haciendo especial hincapié en dos comunidades limítrofes y totalmente diferentes como son Cantabria y el País Vasco. A continuación, mediante la utilización del índice de Gini, se ha estudiado la evolución de la desigualdad salarial en España según género. Por último, se ha hecho una comparativa con diferentes países de la Unión Europea. Una de las conclusiones más relevantes derivada de este análisis es que a pesar de que con el paso de los años la brecha cada vez es menor, estamos aún lejos de conseguir la igualdad total salarial entre ambos sexos.
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this Final Degree Project is the study of the evolution of the salary differences between men and women in the Spanish labour market. To carry out this study, the causes of this gender wage gap have been previously investigated. Subsequently, with data from the National Institute of Statistics, a descriptive analysis of the evolution of wage differences between men and women in Spain has been made, using the main descriptive statistics and playing special attention to two bordering and totally different communities such as Cantabria and the Basque Country. Then, using the Gini index, the evolution of gender wage inequality in Spain has been studied. Finally, a comparison between different countries of the European Union has been made. One of the most relevant conclusions derived from this analysis is that even though over the years the gap is getting smaller, we are still far from achieving total wage equality between both sexes.
