Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo busca profundizar en la teoría de decisión multicriterio, es decir, analizar aquellas situaciones en las cuales los objetivos que se pretenden alcanzar se encuentran en situación de conflicto debido a que la toma de decisiones está condicionada por múltiples criterios de selección. Este estudio comienza revisando las primeras referencias, trabajos y publicaciones sobre la teoría de decisión multicriterio, desde su concepción hasta su consolidación en el ámbito matemático y científico. Así como la posterior introducción de dicho ámbito en la gestión de empresas y su progresiva aceptación. A continuación, se introducirán los conceptos y terminología característicos así como las herramientas matemáticas necesarias para comprender y desarrollar los distintos modelos empleados en la búsqueda de soluciones óptimas en el marco de la programación multicriterio. Y finalmente se analizarán los distintos métodos de optimización más comúnmente empleados en la programación multicriterio utilizados para resolver los diferentes programas lineales. El estudio se centra principalmente en aplicar los métodos anteriormente mencionados, a un caso de gestión empresarial que toma como ejemplo una planta cementera dedicada a la producción de dos productos: clínker y cemento. Los objetivos de dicha planta serán maximizar el margen bruto así como minimizar la cantidad de combustibles alternativos necesarios para compensar la contaminación generada como efecto colateral. El tratar de optimizar más de un objetivo, unido al conjunto de restricciones al que está sujeta la empresa (fuerza laboral, límite de producción, etc.) es lo que permite introducir esta situación en el marco de la teoría de decisión multicriterio. La aplicación de dichos métodos nos permitirá comparar los diferentes conjuntos de soluciones obtenidas, algunas aportando soluciones eficientes mientras que otras caracterizadas por incorporar las preferencias del decisor en forma de ponderaciones tratarán de acercase los más posible a dichas soluciones.

ABSTRACT: This paper focuses on the study of the multi-criteria decision making theory, that is, to analyze those situations in which the goals that are intended to be achieved are in a situation of conflict because the decision making process is conditioned by multiple selection criteria. The study begins by reviewing the first references, papers and publications on multicriteria decision making theory, from its conception to its consolidation in the mathematical and scientific field. As well as the subsequent introduction of this subject in business management and its progressive acceptance. The following part focuses on the characteristic concepts and terminology that will be introduced as well as the mathematical tools necessary to understand and develop the different models used in the search for optimal solutions in the framework of multi-criteria programming. Finally, we will analyze the different optimization methods most commonly used in multi-criteria programming that are used to solve a variety of linear programs. The study focuses mainly on applying the aforementioned methods, to a management case that takes as an example a cement plant dedicated to the production of two products: clinker and cement. The objectives of this plant will be to maximize the gross margin as well as to minimize the amount of alternative fuels that must be produced to compensate for the pollution generated as a side effect. The fact that we are to maximize more than one objective, together with the set of restrictions to which the company is subject to (labor force, production limit, etc.) is what allows to introduce this situation within the framework of multi-criteria decision theory. The application of these methods will allow us to compare the different sets of solutions obtained, some providing efficient solutions while others characterize by incorporating the preferences of the decision maker in the form of weights, which will provide approximations of the desired solutions
