El presente artículo trata sobre la interrelación comunicadorsocial-mercado laboral, adelantando algunosresultados de una investigación que la autora viene desarrollando en la Facultadde Comunicación Socialde la Universidad Católica, con elasesoramiento de la M. Á. María Ester Mancebo. En el artículo se plantea una reseña de la historia dela carrera en el continente, el debate en torno al perfil del egresado y algunos datos preliminares a modo de diagnóstico de la situación de los egresados en el mercado de trabajo.
