Abstract

A través de un enfoque de investigación aplicada de tipo cualitativo se busca responder a la pregunta ¿qué características posee el municipio de Tabio (Cundinamarca) para ser considerado un destino que se incline por el turismo sostenible? seleccionando dicho municipio como principal objeto de estudio, en relación a su patrimonio natural y cultural, por su nombramiento en 1998 como el Primer Municipio Verde de Colombia, por la conservación de un 66% de sus bosques primarios, debido a su puesta en práctica de tipologías turísticas como el turismo de naturaleza, cultural y el ecoturismo, por la realización del Festival Nacional del Torbellino como homenaje a una danza tradicional de la región andina colombiana originaria de la Cordillera Oriental del país, el cual convoca áreas artísticas como la música y la danza, y al que han asistido durante el desarrollo de su programación, en las veintiséis versiones desde sus inicios, centenares de visitantes. Se presentarán dos emprendimientos culturales es el caso del restaurante Mandioca Cocina y Cultura y Adrián Ibáñez Galería que nutren el turismo en Tabio.

Through a qualitative applied research approach seeks to answer the question: what characteristics does the municipality of Tabio (Cundinamarca) possess to be considered a destination that is inclined towards sustainable tourism? selecting this municipality as the main object of study, in relation to its natural and cultural heritage, for its appointment in 1998 as the First Green Municipality of Colombia, for the conservation of 66% of its primary forests, due to its implementation of tourist typologies such as nature, cultural tourism and ecotourism, for the completion of the National Festival of the Whirlwind as a tribute to a traditional dance of the Colombian Andean region originating in the Eastern Cordillera of the country, which brings together artistic areas such as music and dance, and who have assisted during the development of its programming, in the twenty-six versions since its inception, hundreds of visitors. Two cultural undertakings will be presented, such as the restaurant Mandioca Cocina y Cultura and Adrián Ibáñez Galería that nourish tourism in Tabio.
