Turismo y posconflicto: las cifras no mienten

Abstract

Much has been said about the great contribution of the peace agreement to the tourism sector in Colombia. Here, the magnifying glass on the real statistics. According to the National Tourism Bulletin of January 2018, prepared by the Economic Studies Office of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, last year some 6,531,226 travelers entered Colombia, 2,084,222 more than in 2016. Comparing the months of January 2017 and 2018, Colombia went from receiving 231,877 to 344,738 visitors, an increase of 48.67% that positions the country as an increasingly coveted destination.

Mucho se ha hablado del gran aporte del acuerdo de paz al sector turístico en Colombia. Aquí, la lupa sobre las verdaderas estadísticas. De acuerdo con el Boletín Nacional de Turismo de enero de 2018, elaborado por la Oficina de Estudios Económicos del Ministerio de Comercio Industria y Turismo, el año pasado ingresaron a Colombia cerca de 6.531.226 viajeros, 2.084.222 más que en el 2016. Comparando los meses de enero de 2017 y 2018, Colombia pasó de recibir 231.877 a 344.738 visitantes, un incremento del 48,67% que posiciona al país como un destino cada vez más codiciado.
