Barreras de acceso a los servicios preventivos u correctivos de Odontología

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó con el objetivo de conocer las barreras de acceso a los servicios preventivos u correctivos de odontología en el Centro De Salud Sur Occidente de la Empresa Social del Estado Popayán. Se realizo un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en una muestra de 60 pacientes que asistieron a consulta odontológica en el Centro de Salud Sur Occidente de la Empresa Social del Estado Popayán, durante el mes de mayo del año 2012. Se utilizo una encuesta estructurada para indagar las características socio demográficas de la población y las posibles causas de tipo externo y propio del usuario que lleva a la población a no asistir oportunamente al servicio odontológico. Se encontró que las barreras más frecuentes son la falta de recursos económicos, la dificultad para la consecución de una cita, el vivir muy lejos del Centro de Salud, el mal trato del profesional, la ansiedad por los tratamientos.

This research was performed in order to understand the barriers to preventive or corrective dentistry in the South West Health Center of the State Social Enterprise Popayan. We performed a cross sectional study in a sample of 60 patients attending a dental visit in the South West Health Center of the State Social Enterprise Popayan during the month of May 2012. A structured survey was used to investigate the sociodemographic characteristics of the population and the possible causes of type external user's own leading to people not to provide timely assistance to the dental service. We found that common barriers include lack of financial resources, difficulty achieving an appointment, living far from the center of Health, professional abuse, anxiety treatments.
