Criptomonedas un mundo incierto

Abstract

From the time humanity traded goats for sacks of wheat to the day we talk about Bitcoin as if it were hotcakes, the truth is that money has always been a tool of power and (supposedly) stability. Centralized systems, which in theory protect us, have proven to be quite fragile when they are truly needed. And of course, this has opened the door to decentralized options like cryptocurrencies, which promise financial freedom… albeit with a volatility that sometimes inspires more fear than confidence. The curious thing is that, while people seek to escape the control of banks, governments rush to create their own official cryptocurrencies. Such are the ironies of the 21st century. Blockchain technology, however, has shown that it goes beyond money: it can transform entire industries, if used correctly. Therefore, beyond fads or techno-futuristic rhetoric, this work seeks to understand the true role of cryptocurrencies in the global economy, and how we can use them without going broke (or losing everything) in the process.
