Migali: Transformación de vidrio

Abstract

This document presents the problems that glass has in the city of Bogota, Colombia, with respect to the environment because the growth of solid waste in the city is increasing every day generating a general concern among the population. Therefore, we designed the structure of a company called Migali which aims to recycle and generate crushed glass as a product because it is considered a sustainable alternative The main problem to treat is the accumulation and mishandling of glass on the streets, these residues have negative effects in the short and long term we analyze what happens to a glass bottle in the forest which can start fires. The glass does not degrade away in rivers and seas, green areas take more than 4,000 years to degrade. The main causes for which Migali emerged would be the poor control and management of material, in the deposits and uses to which the material is intended these causes were identified because people prefer to continue disposing of their garbage by mixing the glass with organic products in the same bag. They prefer this to moving to an adequate waste separation point.
