Abstract

Adequate glycemic control in diabetes is essential to reduce the risk of complications; there are glucose measurement systems that use capillary blood and provide immediate values but do not detect trends and have limitations for nocturnal data; there are also continuous glucose monitoring systems that are useful to know the behavior of glucose during 24 hours and allow for interpretation and decision making based on exact needs.
