Aceites Manuelita S.A.

Abstract

This project seeks to produce biodiesel by blending RBD palm oil with palm stearin and degummed soybean oil, mainly to meet two objectives: to substitute raw materials to reduce raw material purchase costs and to maintain production requirements during seasons with low palm bunch harvest. For this purpose, laboratory scale tests were carried out, which served as a tool to identify the characteristics and significant variants during the production process and thus evaluate the possibility of scaling up the process to industrial production in the biodiesel plant with an optimized capacity of 120,000 tons/year.
