Abstract

En este documento se presentan los resultados de la investigación que tuvo como objetivo determinar las características y condiciones logísticas para la comercialización internacional de ropa deportiva desde Tuluá hacia Estados Unidos. Inicialmente se efectuó un diagnóstico de la empresa objeto de estudio, considerando aspectos como la información general, su direccionamiento estratégico, la marca, el producto, su portafolio de productos conformado por ropa deportiva, su estructura organizacional y el mapa de procesos a través de los cuales fue posible comprender sus procesos misionales y de apoyo y soporte. Seguidamente se identificaron las oportunidades comerciales que se presentan en Estados Unidos de acuerdo con las estadísticas comerciales para el producto ropa deportiva en la actualidad. Luego, se determinó el potencial exportador para la comercialización internacional de ropa deportiva desde Tuluá hacia los Estados Unidos a partir del modelo MPE. Seguidamente se realizó un análisis de la capacidad de producción de la empresa, las restricciones a la exportación y los volúmenes de compra de los clientes potenciales y finalmente, se estudian las alternativas que tiene la empresa para la exportación de ropa deportiva hacia los Estados Unidos, donde se encontró que es más conveniente la modalidad marítima, pues, la modalidad aérea presenta mayores costos en especial por los fletes internacionales, los cuales encarecen el producto, situación que resta competitividad a la ropa deportiva. Mientras que, la modalidad marítima, en tránsito internacional agrega pocos costos logísticos, determinando una amplia diferencia entre ambas modalidades, a favor de esta última, frente a la competitividad del producto en el mercado extranjero.

This document presents the results of the research that aimed to determine the characteristics and logistical conditions for the international commercialization of sportswear from Tuluá to the United States. Initially, a diagnosis of the company under study was made, considering aspects such as general information, its strategic direction, the brand, the product, its product portfolio made up of sportswear, its organizational structure and the process map through the which it was possible to understand their missionary and support processes. The business opportunities presented in the United States were then identified based on current business statistics for the sportswear product. Then, the export potential for the international commercialization of sportswear from Tuluá to the United States was determined based on the MPE model. Next, an analysis of the company's production capacity, export restrictions and purchase volumes of potential customers was carried out and finally, the alternatives that the company has for exporting sportswear to the United States are studied. where it was found that the maritime modality is more convenient, since the air modality presents higher costs, especially due to international freight, which makes the product more expensive, a situation that reduces competitiveness to sportswear. While, the maritime modality, in international transit, adds few logistics costs, determining a wide difference between both modalities, in favor of the latter, compared to the competitiveness of the product in the foreign market.
