This document contains the study of an obvious problem, which is damaging the environment, causing modifications in ecosystems and resources that are necessary for living beings, the research includes the basic concepts of pollution and contextualizes the reader on the risk they face society to mass-produce masks in order to mitigate the risk of contagion of the Covid 19 virus. The development of a face mask made of a biodegradable material with a particle retention level between 10 and 100 nanometers is proposed, based on abaca and bamboo fibers, which supplies the need to manufacture face masks in order to reduce the chances of contracting the Covid 19 virus with this barrier method. As a method, a table was used, in which the different variables with their respective dimensions are found with the results of the characteristics obtained from a comparison matrix between the results of each of the study fibers, as can be seen in the Bamboo fiber is the one that presents the best results, it can be concluded that due to its natural antibacterial origin it limits the entry of bacteria and viruses.
