Abstract

Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.), is a euphorbia that is commonly known as mountain peanuts, sacha peanuts or Inca peanuts. It is distributed in Central America and in Colombia it is found in the wild in various parts of the Orinoquia and Choco. It is a plant that adapts to clayey and acidic soils and develops best in hot climates (Arevalo, 1995). Among its components are mainly: proteins, amino acids, essential fatty acids (omegas 3, 6, and 9) and vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols) in significantly high contents, compared to other oilseeds (peanuts, palm, soybeans, corn, rapeseed and sunflower) (INIEA, 2008). The Bajo Cauca area of Antioquia has the necessary conditions to implement this type of crops, so EAFIT joined the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and the Colombian company of Biofuels (Colbio) to present a macro project that seeks to use two of its varieties to benefit the communities in the area. (EAFIT, 2017). Using good agricultural practices is expected to positively impact the environment. With this business plan, the aim is to join the small growers of sacha inchi cultivators in Bajo Cauca, implement a sacha inchi oil extraction and refining plant, which will allow this product to be marketed and maintain a good price for farmers, guaranteeing social sustainability. . It is expected to market with Sacha Colombia and gradually cover the local marking. It is expected to obtain an internal rate of return of 37.58%, with a three-year investment recovery rate, with an average of sales that guarantee economic sustainability.
